I am a veterinarian in academia by day, and newbie real estate investor by night.
My love for real estate started when I was young – my dad was on the financial side of some major new construction home building companies throughout the U.S. and my mom was an interior designer with her own studio.
So I grew up with “house, houses, houses”!
I learned a lot from the two of them growing up, but I feel like I’ve learned so much as an adult, just by “doing” too.
I have now done a few of my own live-in flips as an adult. Y’all – it can get kind of crazy and it NEVER goes according to plan! ….like ever.
I got divorced three years ago and had $19.63 to my name after it was all said and done.
In the last three years I have been able to build up a passion project of mine, Bless Her Heart Y’all, and sell it off for a good chunk of change.
This also lead to publishing two cookbooks too, Gluten-Free Comfort Foods and Gluten-Free Cookbook For Beginners.

So I found myself in a very different situation than what I was in just 3 years ago- with a continuously growing savings account and no game plan on how to put it to good use for my future.
After a lot of praying and thinking and probably more praying, I found my answer. I wanted to dive deeper into real estate! So I did another live-in flip with success.
But now I want to change things up. I want to buy and hold.
I want to dabble into both long term and short term rentals and see which one works best for me and build from there.
But growing won’t be done without a strong team beside me, so let me introduce you to my main chick – my amazing mother Julia!
Not only did she get me through one of the hardest times of my life during my divorce, but she helped me dive into real estate and continues to help me so much as I learn more and more.
