Best Real Estate Investing Podcasts For Newbies

I guess that you could say that I am obsessed with learning about real estate. I am constantly reading websites, scouring forums, locked in to books, and listening to podcasts.

Some of the resources I’ve stumbled upon have been gamechangers for the newbie that I am, and some are well above my pay grade at the moment.

I have a 25-30 minute drive to work each day for my W-2. That’s an hour a day that I could jam out to music, but I choose to listen to real estate podcasts.

Every podcast that I’ve listened to on the list below, has given me nuggets of info gold that I can use to formulate my real estate game plan.

These are my top podcasts that have given me the most out of my ‘listen time’ as a newbie investor.

Top Podcasts For New Real Estate Investors:

  • Bigger Pockets Real Estate Rookie Podcast: Ashley Kehr and Felipe Mejia started this podcast a while back. Recently, Tony Robinson (from the Your First Real Estate Investment podcast) replaced Felipe. This duo interviews other real estate rookies about their highs and lows starting out in this industry. It’s real life stuff that they talk about and I really connect with the investors that they interview.
  • Bigger Pockets Real Estate Podcast: Brandon Turner and David Greene run this bad boy and this podcast is the go-to real estate podcast. They interview a well-rounded group of investors and blend in some amazing mindset pieces to help along the way. My favorite new mindset podcast episode is #437 with Marie Forleo on worst case scenarios – great for the newbie in analysis paralysis mode. Another great mindset episode is #419 on defeating distraction with Nir Eyal.
  • ChooseFi Podcast: This one helps get my mind around my finances and where I want to see my money go in the future. Lots of inspiration of where my money can go.
  • Real Estate & Financial Independence Podcast: Chad Carson, AKA Coach Carson interviews investors and also has a lot of episodes where he is flying solo, just discussing and dissecting a topic that he gets questions about. Chad has been very successful in his real estate career, and he breaks things down into actionable chunks for new investors to munch on.
  • Thanks For Visiting Podcast: Cutest. Podcast. Ever. This lady duo are the masters of the short-term rental game. They discuss all the things that you would never even think about when running your own AirBnb or VRBO. So many great ideas in every single episode. They also share other short term rental investors who are doing it right when it comes to marketing, decorating, and hosting, so it’s not all about ‘them’.
  • Your First Real Estate Investment Podcast: Tony J. Robinson ran this podcast until very recently when he moved over to the Bigger Pockets Real Estate Rookie Podcast with Ashley. I loved this podcast because Tony does a deep dive in each episode with other first time investors. He covers the financials and the EMOTIONS that go into buying your first investment. I resonate with this podcast at this time because I am working on grabbing my first buy and hold and I am in the same trenches right now as Tony’s guests are at the time of their taping.
  • The House Hacking Podcast: If you are looking for some great house-hacking tips, this is one of two great podcasts that you can listen to quickly as you cruise to and from work. It’s easily digestible.
  • House Hacking Success Podcast: Drew and Brad run this podcast and the instagram with the same name. They are always throwing out lots of awesome information about house hacking and the financing that goes into it to make house hacking successful. They also interview investors who have gone and done it – and it is incredibly helpful.

What other podcast do you love? Let me know what has helped you as a fellow newbie and I’ll stick it up on the list!
